Good morning, everyone! It's a little depressing to say that and realize that on the east coast it's almost noon. Ahhh, well. Maybe I can re-think it into feeling like I got to sleep in. ;)

Anyway! I'm totally plumbing you guys today. See, I write this monthly column on writers and writing over on Geeking Out About.com, and the question was asked: How does mood affect my writing? Which means that in a week when my next column hits, that's what it'll be on!

Here's the catch, though: Personally, my mood is pretty predictable. If I'm tired and depressed, I can't write. Or at least, it's hard as hell. (I have noticed this over the last week in writing my next novel. MAN, it's been a heck of a week!) If I'm angsty or emo, I write great (but really angsty and emo stuff -- look at By Degrees, which is still on the bestseller list, and definitely emotionally full!), and if I'm happy I write happy (more like my short stories, Hero in Me and Under the Stars). But that doesn't make a full column. Then I got to wondering -- what do other people do?

I know there are lots of other authors reading this. Do you find that mood affects your writing? How?

Ohhh, this is going to be a fun day. ;)
